Built in 1816 St. John’s Lutheran Church in Valga is the only one in Estonia with one
nave laid out in an oval shape. There are two altar paintings in the church, one of them
picturing the busy preparations of the Holy Communion. A generous potter from Riga
decided to give it to the church.
