An Old Believers’ church existed in Mustvee as early as 1795 but the Orthodox
authorities forced to give it to the “right” congregation. The Old Believers built
themselves a new one in 1802. Both of them were burnt to ashes in the 1944 air raid.
The present Old Believers’ church was built between 1927 and 1930.
