Vao Tower-Fortress from the second half of the 14th century is one of the most unique buildings in Lääne-Virumaa. The tower has been of built local limestone and was the vassal's permanent living quarters, evidenced by a dansker, a washing area, a chapel and a fireplace on the ground floor level.
The museums exibition introduces Vao manor, Vao village and the history of Rennenkampff family, who were tha last landlords of the manor.
