The lakes set to the basins between primeval eskers molded during the Ice Age. The
way there is marked by the 12th–14th century graves of the Votes, a nation of whom
only about hundred is left. Going further to the pinewood there is believed to be a hiding
place of armored trucks of the II World War.
A legend says local peasants received a miraculous relevation on this hill and later on found an Orthodox icon most holy under the oak-tree here, a sacrificial one itself. All of this happened in the 16th century.
