Built in 1671 the town hall was destroyed during the II World War like the rest of the
old town. On the 6th of March 1944 the Soviet bombers had their air raid, in the same
summer retreating Germans blew up some more of the town. Right after the war there
was a nice plan to build the old town up again but in the end only the town hall and two
dwellings were.
A legend says local peasants received a miraculous relevation on this hill and later on found an Orthodox icon most holy under the oak-tree here, a sacrificial one itself. All of this happened in the 16th century.
