Having worked till the II World War the Dutch wind-mill is the only one survived out of the three that used to be there in the town in the beginning of the 20th century. It was built in 1899 at the place the first Apostolic Orthodox church in Kuressaare stood before burning down in the 1780s as did the rest of the town.
