Järvere Manor was founded in 1766 on the shore of the Vagula Lake as an addition to Sõmerpalu Manor. The founder of the manor was the landlord of Sõmerpalu, a doctor of philosophy, Friedrich Alexander von Möller, who built the house for his mother. The Järvere manor then became known as “the old lady’s house”.
