The church was built in 1825 and restored in1906.

It is a smallish classicist church with a brick floor and a historicist tower. The author of the rare-themed altarpiece “Let the children come to me” is unknown but believed to be most likely the Baltic German painter Friedrich Ludwig von Maydell (XIX).
