As a present from the Swedish Kingdom the monument celebrates the victory their king
Karl XII gained in the first battle of Narva during the Great Nordic War. Erected in 2000
it replaces the previous one from the year 1936 that disappeared during the II World
War. On the pedestal it says MDCC, Svecia Memor, Sweden Remembers.
A legend says local peasants received a miraculous relevation on this hill and later on found an Orthodox icon most holy under the oak-tree here, a sacrificial one itself. All of this happened in the 16th century.
