The estate was first mentioned in 1480 but the close by village by the same name is thought to have been existing already before the Christianisation in the 13th century. The spearheads and other ancient items found from the area allow such suggestion. The old stone walls in the village are buried in the ground as well. The soil there is clayish and the former village clerks have been trying to avoid too many puddles by graveling the roads over and over again until the roads evened with the walls.
