Having had separated from the sea about 8 000 years ago it's the oldest lake in Saaremaa. Its sandy shores and clear water makes it a good swimming place. The marks of the last war are still there too--during the last four years 30 Soviet bombs, still unexploded, have been pulled out from the lake.
In 1925, as many as 9 windmills were standing on the top of Windmill Mountain. Five of them, having survived until today, also give a powerful impression. Four out of the five Angla windmills are typical trestle windmills, characteristic of Island Saare...
