Haanja nature park lies on the upland of Haanja, in the heart of Võrumaa. The park has been founded to ensure the survival and recovery of local landscapes and natural biotic community as well as the historic way of life of local people (dispersed villages, small meadows and pastures, original crafts tradition resulting from the poor soil of the area, etc).
