St. Catherine’s church is the only Medieval one in Muhu. Its starchy thick walls hint that
the church was used as a fort or shelter as well. A most rare Viking time trapeze shaped
grave stone is bricked in its wall – a proof that the island sets on the ancient sea way.
Muhu old cemetery situates a few kilometers away from the church.
