Erected in 1761 the windmill in Aruselja farm yard is one of the
oldest in the windy island of Hiiumaa. The base of the mill is
heaped up of earth stones only, no adhesive substance is used.
It was as recently as in the 1930s that there were about thousand
windmills flouring grain in Estonia.
