Building this famous Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen engineered church started in 1915.
In 1931 the left wing was added but the right was never finished – the church burned
down in 1944. After Soviets arrested father Harri Haamer in 1948 the restoration came
to a standstill. The Sport Museum used one wing for 40 years. The church is still only
half restored.
