Carl Gottlieb Mattiesen the printer bought the house in 1848. It accommodated print houses ever since but in 1990s it was decided to open it as a café and a printing museum, a bookshop and a pub. A double sculpture of Oscar Wilde and Eduard Vilde, an Estonian realist author was opened in front of it.
