The history of this only brick church in Southern Estonia goes back to dark and
unknown time of 1159. Despite being ravaged by every war there was the church has
mostly remained its original looks. Having had a defence purpose in the beginning it
was also one of the first ones in the country side that had an organ already in 1781.
