Sangaste castle is one of the most well-known and distinctive manor buildings in Estonia that has often been compared to Windsor castle. The building with Tudor-like historicist style was designed by Otto Pius Hippius who also designed Kaarli church in Tallinn.
The most spectacular rooms in the castle are an octagonal ballroom, the Spanish Hall in Maori style and the Hunting Hall in English style. There are around 100 rooms in the castle.
