Elistvere Nature Centre is situated in RMK Tartu–Jõgeva Recreation Area, on the second floor of the entrance building of the highly popular Elistvere Animal Park. Elistvere Animal Park was established in 1997 and aims to share nature education and offer visitors a chance to watch wild animals in their natural environment. The nature centre contributed to this aim by offering nature study programmes and organising events. It also introduces the recreation opportunities in the entire Tartu–Jõgeva area and offers educational programmes in the surrounding nature.
