Tallinn cafe's

30.January 2013
Cafe C'est La Vie

There are more than a hundred nice cafes in the centre of Tallinn and there is no doubt you will find some place in accordance to your taste.

The most exclusive cafeterias can be spotted in the old town. Maiasmokk (The Gormandizer) in Pikk street - the oldest cafe in Tallinn still in action, has luxorious interior dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. Maiasmokk offers fresh pastries and delicious cakes. Pikk street also accommodates Anneli Viik's Chocolate Cafe, a heavenly place for all chocolate-lovers. There are hand made truffles made from the highest quality chocolate available in the cafe. Another exciting place in the old town is Bogapott at Toompea, which assembles a pottery and a cafe. The best choise of champagnes and sparkling wines can be foun in french cafe C'est la Vie in Suur-Karja street. The interior in C'est la Vie has been inspired by 1930ties Art Deco and the menu consists mainly of classical French dishes. A trendy visitor of Tallinn can enjoy innovative and unique interior in Kamahouse restaurant/cafe, located in Kopli street, 1km north from the old town. The place surprises with its open kitchen, where the delights of modern Estonian cuisine are prepared in front of your eyes. Kamahouse is also a comfortable place to go when you have children with you. A playground has been set up for the little ones. In the same building in Kopli street there are Kamahouse Gallery and a shop selling masterpieces of Estonian art and design. MARU cafe in Tallinn Seaplane Harbour specialises on the Nordic and Estonian coastal food culture. Anyone who loves seafood is therefore warmly welcomed! Living a Kosher lifestyle? In Jewish synagogue in Karu street there is a nice cafe called Jerusalem. So far this seems to be the only place in Tallinn offering Kosher menu but probably there is more to come in the near future.
