The summer at the Museum of Puppetry Arts is full of exciting adventures! From June to August, both guided tours and workshops are taking place weekly, presenting the magical world of puppetry. On Wednesdays, the visitors are taken to the mysterious museum maze, they learn to know different types of puppets, and can see if it is possible to animate them. Every Thursday, everyone can try their hand at making a puppet.

From 21 to 23 August, the Museum of Puppetry Arts is inviting 8-12-year-old theatre lovers to the city camp Theatre Explorer for the first time ever. The city camp of the Museum of Puppetry Arts enables a look behind the stage curtain and presents the mysterious behind-the-scenes world of theatre.

On the first day of the camp, the focus is on getting acquainted with the theatre puppets. The children visit the puppet makers of the Estonian Theatre for Young Audiences and every child can make their own puppet. The second day of the camp takes the participants to the behind-the-scenes world. For example, children learn through captivating activities who the stage technician, theatre designer, and prop maker are. On the third day of the camp, the children meet an actor of the Estonian Theatre for Young Audiences, in order to peek behind the scenes of the actor’s profession. After that, the participants learn about the etiquette of watching a theatre performance.
Tickets to the events and more detailed information about the camp can be found on the website of the Estonian Theatre for Young Audiences.
