In the northern part of Pahkla village and in the bordering spruce stand there are numerous large stones. The largest one of them has been named the king of Estonian stones by locals, known as Pahkla Suurkivi (Big Stone) elsewhere. Pahkla Suurkivi is a glacial boulder the circumference of which is 29.5 m and height 4.4 m. The stone is almost the shape of a cuboid with vertical sides and smooth face, it is almost 50 m².
According to folk tales the estate owners of Pahkla used to organise trips to the stone. They set a table on the stone, had fun and danced. It is told that one time a golden watch or chain of the baron himself had fallen in a crack of the stone and supposedly it is there up until today. Close to Suurkivi there are also three smaller stones – Mari nutukivi (“crying” stone), Mägrakivi and Ussi põllu suurkivi (“field big stone”) with 17 holes for oblation that are also connected to legends.
