The centre works mostly with naive, contemporary folk and outsider art, organises exhibitions and conducts research.

The Kondas Centre of Naive Art was founded in 2003 and is dedicated to one of the most well-known naivists in Estonia - Paul Kondas (1900-1985). Besides showing Kondas' works, the museum has five exhibition rooms where short-term exhibitions are staged. The centre conducts research in the filed of naivism and hosts art workshops.
The centre lies in the vicinity of mediaeval Viljandi castle ruins.
