The exact birth of Ilmjärve congregation was on the 4th of April
1846, when the first Lutheran turned Orthodox and had the
salving. 3152 Lutherans took the same steps the same year. The
first wooden building with five towers was erected two years later.
The stone building from 1873 bore some damages in the II World
War.
