Obinitsa church was built in 1952 despite many obstacles such as the governments reluctance and lack of financial and labor resources. Support came from Valga church and local peasants who voluntarily helped to fund and build the church.

The manor house established in 1658 has changed hands many times. Its present Classicist main building derives from the year 1839. The manor house is now privately owned and provides tourism services.
