Building of the St Catherine’s Orthodox Church in Võru began in 1793. It is an early neo-classical church (architect Matthias Schons) with numerous icons and a beautiful iconostasis from the early 19th century.
A baroque church built by Count Karl Mellin in 1777 and rebuilt in a somewhat pseudo-gothic style in 1863. The ornament of the simple interior is the pulpit-altar with paintings and carvings (XVII-XVIII), which is one of its kind in Estonia.
